Presented by the Blue Ridge Wildlife Center. It's that time of year to pull on hats, a warm winter coat, mittens and boots. Have you ever wondered what our wild friends do when the temperatures start to dip and winter weather sets in? Learn how animals migrate, hibernate and adapt to survive the harsh winter weather. Animal guest may include: Arctic fox, corn snake, big brown bat, red-faced screech owl, hawk, and raptor.

Free Blood Pressure Readings

WIC Breastfeeding Moms Group

On the first Thursday of every month, moms will have the opportunity to create a new scrapbook page while socializing and getting support from other breastfeeding moms. Winter Nature Photography Workshop

Winter offers unique opportunities for nature photography. The low angle of the sun casts beautiful light creating magical textures and shadows. Birds frequent feeders, snow paints the environment with frosting while bare trees stand as elegant sentries.

 

Join us to learn techniques for photographing nature during the winter. This presentation focuses on how to select and compose winter scenes using any type of camera or smartphone. We will provide advice on settings and protecting cameras in the cold. Included will be some basic techniques that help you capture great images. Although this is not a hands-on presentation, bring your camera or smartphone along to review different settings. Register for this event online.
