Summer Reading Club

June 7th - August 14th

Favorite animals and amazing stories give you Tails and Tales, a fun-filled summer reading club for all ages! Come explore the exciting world of wild animals and their habitats through books, programs, games, and more! Register online or in person. Read some great tales, log your books, and pick up your prize when you visit Samuels Library.

Note: If you have participated in one of our reading programs in the past using Beanstack, you don't need to create a new user to sign up - simply login to your original account and check the box to register for the current program.

Teens earn a prize by completing one book each week.

Use Beanstack to log your books online, earn badges for books read and activities completed. You can write reviews to share with others, and see what other kids are reading this summer. Follow this link for more information on using Beanstack.

Teen Volunteers

If you are between the ages of 12 - 18 and are interested in helping in the Youth Services department of Samuels Library, please apply online using the form below, or pick up an application in person. Candidates will enjoy working with children and be willing to maintain neatness in the library and do light office work. As volunteers gain experience there may be opportunities to help with programming and reference. Volunteers are an important part of our Youth Services department and are greatly appreciated.

    Are you inspired by good books, articles, movies, and art? Do you write, draw, or enjoy playing music? If so, join us as we discuss books and share our creations. This is a group for those who wish to talk seriously about a variety of topics. We will be meeting in the Children’s Garden. Registration is encouraged. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be be moved inside. Register for this event online.

  • Aromatherapy for Teens

    Saturday, July 31st, 2021 
    2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
    Ages 12 & Up  REGISTRATION REQUIRED 


    Teens, join Ms. Michal in the Children's Garden to explore the benefits of aromatherapy. A tour of the garden will highlight plants that are useful for their scent. Using essential oils and plants found in our garden, everyone will make lotion to take home, in their favorite scent of the day. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be be moved inside.
