The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is required by law to establish administrative records "at or near a facility at issue." Samuels Public Library is serving as the designated field repository for the Avtex Fibers, Inc. site. The Avtex Fibers, Inc. Administrative Record File is now available to the public online by searching here.
Samuels Public Library will continue to house hard copy documents which are unavailable on the internet. The documents available at the library are mostly maps concerning the site area. They are located in the Virginia History Room and are available for in-house review only.
Deposit book collections are available for residents of Warren County, Virginia who are unable to come in to the library. Please call Nicki Lynch at Samuels Library 540.635.3153 for more information.
The library currently maintains 30 computers for public access. Ten of these are located in the children's and young adult areas and provide educational games, reference files and word processing capabilities. The remaining twenty computers are located in the adult area of the library and are capable of internet access as well as word processing functions.
Any Library patron with a card in good standing may log on to an Internet Computer. Samuels Public Library does require that all patrons wishing to use the internet agree to our "Internet Acceptable Use Policy". Children under the age of 18 must have a parent present to sign their authorization form if they wish to access the internet through the library. Internet use is on a first come, first serve basis.
Through use of our internet computers, you will have access to a broad range of data on any subject requiring your research. You may also access your personal e-mail, work on a resume, research any topic, the possibilities are endless. For a nominal fee, printouts of accessed files are available.
Wireless internet access is available throughout the library building. Additionally, there are numerous locations throughout the facility to 'plug-in', and sit comfortably while you work on your laptop or mobile device.
