Get a Library Card

Get a Library Card

Almost anyone, even those who live outside of Warren County, may receive a library card. To obtain a card, all you’ll need to present is picture identification.

Juveniles age 0 – 17 may get a library card provided that their parent or legal guardian is present and can fulfill the aforementioned requirement, or has a Samuels Library card in good standing.

You will go through a short application process after which you will receive and be able to use your library card immediately. Access the online application here - you may fill it out before coming into the library, then simply present your ID at the Circulation Desk to complete the process. Your FREE card will provide you with a wealth of information, technology, and recreation.

If you misplace your card, a replacement may be purchased for $1. If your card is lost or stolen, report it to us immediately so we can take the appropriate measures to prevent anyone else from using your account.

Examples of Library Cards

Get a Virtual Library Card

Want to use our e-resources, including downloadable books, audiobooks, music and online databases, but can't make it into the library to get a card? You're in luck! We're pleased to offer a virtual library card for those of you who only wish to check out electronic media. Now you can fill your e-readers and mobile devices with Samuels' digital library!*

Simply fill out the form here. After submitting your application, you will be taken to a page that lists the barcode you will use to access our online resources. Please note: You will not be able to use your virtual card until the following day.

A virtual library card is exclusively for use of the electronic resources offered by Samuels Library, such as Overdrive and Freading for ebooks, Freegal for downloadable music, and our many online databases. This card cannot be used to check out items in the library - in order to do that, you will need to obtain a physical library card by coming in person to Samuels and presenting a picture ID with your current mailing address.

*If you already have a Samuels Library Card, then you already have online access, therefore, you need not apply for a virtual card.
