Adult Summer Reading

May 1st - August 8th

“Dig Deeper into Your Library” Adult Summer Reading is here! Join us for a fun-filled summer of books, programs and prizes designed to keep "grown-ups" reading, learning and playing all summer long. Due to these unprecedented times, we have decided to start this year’s summer reading program on May 1st to give us more time to enjoy our reading material! Register for the program online using the link below, or sign up by calling the Adult Reference Desk.

For the first book you log in the program, you'll receive a coupon for one free item at Epilogue, the Friends of Samuels Library's used book store located in the library, which you can use when the library reopens. Each book you log will count towards one entry in our weekly and grand prize drawings - the more books you log, the more chances you have to win! Books entered are cumulative and will continue to count as an entry through the final drawing held on August 8th.

Weekly drawings will be held every Monday beginning May 11th, and ending August 8th. Each week one person will be mailed a gift certificate for a local business along with a dozen donuts from your local Apple House! Additionally, anyone who completes an activity badge in the Adult reading challenge will receive a special gift in the mail from the library!

Mid-Program Prize Drawing | Friday, June 12th

This year our summer reading program will be completely online due to the stay at home order issued by the governor. We will be having online Zoom sessions on a variety of topics, including a special program by our local Kiln Doctor, photography, poetry, our online resources, and so much more!

Since this year will be heavily online based, the staff at Samuels Library are making themselves available for you via phone or email! If you need any help, please do not hesitate to email us at or call us at 540.635.3153. Check out our available times below:

Monday - Thursday - 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Friday & Saturday - 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
