Medical personnel from St. Luke Community Clinic will be here in the cafe area to check and monitor your blood pressure free-of-charge. Note: Takes place most Tuesdays of every month - if personnel are not here, blood pressure checks are available any day of the week at St. Luke Community Clinic. You do not need to be a patient there to take advantage of this service.

Crochet Group

We invite you to come out and learn how to crochet or share your talents. The group will meet on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. All ability levels welcome.

Art Workshop: Alcohol Ink Stain

Learn how to use an alcohol ink stain technique to create colorful tiles with local artist and creative spirit John Kovac. This is an adult craft but mature children accompanied by a responsible caregiver are always welcome. Class is limited to 12 attendees. Register for this event online.

An Appalachian Odyssey: My 30 Years on the Appalachian Trail

Author Jeffrey Ryan will share his Appalachian Trail adventures spanning half a lifetime. Ryan has hiked over 8,000 miles on America's trails.

In 1985, he started "inadvertently" hiking the Appalachian Trail with a friend, an adventure that ended up spanning over 2,100 miles and nearly three decades. His two books, An Appalachian Odyssey: My 30 Years on the Appalachian Trail and Blazing Ahead will be available for purchase. Register for this event online.

The Other Side of Eden

The Friends of Samuels Library present a special movie screening and discussion by documentary film director Tom Davenport. Tom's film, The Other Side of Eden, explores the 1932 lynching of a black man in Fauquier County, based on the recently published book The Last Lynching in Virginia by Jim Hall.
