Photographing Spring Wildflowers

Wildflowers celebrate Mother Nature’s glorious emergence from winter. The Shenandoah Valley has a spectacular array of spring wildflowers that are perfect subjects for photography. Sharon Fisher, local photographer, will present simple techniques for photographing wildflowers.

Each presentation focuses on how to compose wildflower photos using any type of camera or smartphone. We will provide advice on settings and share how to find flowers in your own yard. Participants will be encouraged to use their own camera or smartphone to review different settings and to practice taking photos of the wildlife without leaving their home.Follow-up discussion groups will provide participants a chance to share their work and get additional practical instruction and advice. Dig Deeper: Picture in Pictures Collage Workshop

 REGISTRATION REQUIRED 


Join us to learn how to make pictures out of other pictures! Combine other materials like catalogs, junk mail, magazines and newspapers to create your own unique piece of artwork! Then if you enjoy yourself and want to take it to the next level, join us for part two when we learn to make digital collage pieces.

The supplies you need for this are ones you probably already have around your house - cardstock/cardboard/cereal boxes, glue, scissors, ruler, print material like magazines, junk mail, newspapers etc and the program zoom to participate in the class. I have made a video that explains the materials lists and invites you on a scavenger hunt, check out the library's YouTube. If you need supplies, please let staff at the Reference Desk know. They'll be happy to give you craft materials and can reserve a tool kit you can check out.
