Larry and Sondra Johnson will discuss herbal medicines that soldiers carried around with them during the Revolutionary War. Learn how these plants were used and stored.

Dinosaur Babies

The Summer Reading kickoff program is an interactive program starring Nelson, a boy who watched a scary movie about dinosaurs and is afraid to go to sleep. With the encouragement of the Dream Weavers and help from the dinosaur babies he meets, Nelson conquers his fears and sleeps well. Produced by Dinorock, a children’s musical group that has won both the Parent’s Choice Award and ALSC’s most notable list.

Jerry Schneider's Wonderful World of Bats
ages 6 and up

Come learn about the wonderful world of bats, complete with a slide show and audio program. Learn about bats in our attics, vampire bats, bat eyesight, migration, hibernation, and echolocation. After the program, you have an opportunity to stencil a bat T-shirt. Bring your own white shirt or buy one for $4. Registration required.
